Mobilization fees: what goes into the cost

February 20, 2026

Every machine on the rate sheet carries a mob fee. It's not padding — here's exactly what it covers and how to think about it when you're planning a job.

Every machine on the TNB rate sheet carries a mobilization fee. It covers the actual cost of getting equipment from the Nassau yard to your site and back: flatbed fuel, driver time, routing logistics, and permit fees for oversize loads on certain machines. It's published on each machine's page, so there are no surprises in your quote.

Mobilization is billed each direction. You pay mob when the machine arrives at your site, and again when it returns to the yard. This is standard practice across the Caribbean and beyond. Every TNB quote includes both figures so you see the full cost upfront.

The number that matters most: how many days are you spreading the mob cost over? A machine with a $450 mob fee on a 10-day rental adds $90 per day to your effective rate. The same machine rented for 2 days adds $450 per day in mob alone. Rent for the full job duration, not just the first phase, and save yourself a second mobilization charge.
